Ready, set, go…
Hackney Marsh Adventure Playground are delighted to announce our new blog project.
We look forward to sharing are play activities with you.  Creating new play opportunities and providing good quality play we aim to address the needs and wishes of local children who access our playground. Winter is almost here and we are gearing up to provide loads of outdoor activities next week during our October’s half term programme. We hope that you find this blog interesting and useful.

Cloud Dough
This week our sensory activity was CLOUD DOUGH. It provided to be very addictive and a number of children took bags of it home with them!

You will need:
8 cups of plain flour
1 cup of baby oil
(Put the oil and flour into a bowl and mix together with your hands.)
This will turn into a wonderful soft texture similar to wet sand. It can be formed into shapes and models then crumbled apart to create something new

Imaginative Play

With the combination of costumes and mystical stories a young child designed a game based around a ‘Manticore’ myth. Printing footprints, maps and hiding treasure the ‘Manticore’ protected the wooded area within the playground.Other children participated in tracking the beast and hunting for the treasure.
It was fantastic to witness all the children interacting together while fully enaged in the story line and hunting for the hidden treasure!
